Our Year 6 children are finding out about how the rhinos are being treated badly in South Africa. They’ve found out that it’s very possible that rhinos could become extinct in the next fifty years.

They’re going to send letters to South African President Zuma to try and persuade him that something needs to be done about this terrible situation.

This is one of the websites which they’ve been using to research how rhinos are being treated:-

Year 6 recently had chance to speak to one of the producers of David Attenborough’s ‘Africa’ series. Here’s a photo of our Year 6 children listening intently to African tales both exciting and moving.

Year 6 children have been improving their ‘persuasive writing’. This is the subject which they’ve chosen:-

‘Are footballers paid too much?’

So far, they’ve come up with lots of reasons both for and against the subject.

Here’s a link to the CBBC website which discusses the issue in some depth:-
